Nodle Hotspots
Nodle addresses e-waste by repurposing old phones with the innovative Nodle Hotspot app. This app transforms discarded smartphones into hotspots, supporting the Internet of Things and real-world applications while earning users cryptocurrency. The Hotspot app, designed for stationary devices, ensures a stable connection to the Nodle Network, ideal for specific use cases requiring constant connectivity. This sustainable solution benefits the environment and enhances the digital landscape, complementing the main Nodle app that travels with you.
Key features of the Nodle Hotspot app include:
- Centralized device management solution - Nodle app becomes the controller that seamlessly configures and administers the hotspots
- Potential for enhanced earnings
- Sustainable alternative that reuses, repurposes, and reduces e-waste
Configuring Hotspots
Setting up the Hotspot app is easy and smooth, thanks to its seamless integration with the main Nodle app, which acts as the Controller. By using the Controller feature on your main device, you have full control to set up and manage your old or secondary smartphones as Hotspots in the Nodle Network. Technically, the Nodle app configures the public key that the Hotspot app will use and keeps the private key secure.
The communication between the Nodle app and the Hotspot app occurs seamlessly through Bluetooth.
Simply follow the instructions in the app to easily connect and set up your special Hotspot device. Make sure the device stays in one place, always plugged in, to have a steady power supply and uninterrupted internet connection.
Once the Hotspot app is successfully configured, your device will provide a stable and consistent connection to the Nodle Network.
Here are the steps to configure hotspots.
- Download the Nodle Hotspot app on your secondary Android phone.
- Install the Nodle Hotspot app.
- Open the Nodle Hotspot app and tap Start.
- Allow location sharing and Bluetooth.
- Switch off battery optimization for the app to allow the app to work in the background.
- Stay on the Waiting to be configured.
- Open the main Nodle app.
- Go to Settings > Hotspots and tap Next.
- Once your secondary or old Android phone is detected, tap on it to proceed.
- Check the device data to make sure you are connected to the right device and tap Next.
- Add a name for your hotspot and tap Set up. The Hotspot app is now configured.
Maximizing Hotspot Rewards
The Nodle Network rewards of the hotspot operators are based on the availability of their nodes (Hotspots) and the geographic coverage they provide. This means:
- You'll earn more rewards if you set up a stable and dependable Nodle Network coverage in your area. This can be achieved by positioning multiple phones (up to 4 devices max) running the Hotspot app in the same location.
- Increasing the area your Nodle Network covers can also earn you more. You can do this by placing multiple phones running the Hotspot app in various locations.
- Keeping the Hotspot app available round the clock (24/7) with a stable internet connection and Bluetooth turned on will also increase your earnings.
Uses
Some device manufacturers want to create dedicated hardware for the Nodle Network, and wish to integrate the Nodle software into their devices. The Nodle Network is an open network and anybody is welcome to create new ways to deploy edge nodes. The Hotspot app makes this effort much simpler than before.
The Nodle development team will support any device manufacturers who wants to develop dedicated hardware.
The true essence of the Nodle Network lies in its Smart Missions. In the future, specific Smart Missions will be tailored for Nodle Hotspots. The missions will have unique capabilities due to stationary quality and operational times of Hotspots. For example, tracking the movement of an entire fleet of trucks for warehouse management is one such use case.
